It has been almoost three long years since I started my blog site for the non Burmese speaking Free Burma supporters who supported for the democracy movement of Burmese people under the most notorious regime in the world.(They want to know about articles/news which were posted on the Internet in Burmese Language.)

Since than there are many blog sites start appeared on the Internet with the articles and news in Burmese language together with English translation. I am very glad that I am one of the blogger who able to contribute this movement. Since there are so many burmese democracy movement blog sites with english translation now these days, I can able to post more of my own thoughts/my feeling about Burmese Democracy movement than translation of the news and Article but I will continue to do the translation whenever the important news and articles are posted by the other bloggers.

This Poem was written for me by the Fame Poet Ma Thadar ( http:// thadar.blogspot.com) in December 2007. She is still posting a lot of very good patriotic poem.(in Burmese Language). I am trying to translate this poem but scrapped it so many times because unable to captured the very meaningful original version. I am still keep trying.(almost 2yrs!! and still trying)

No headlines news about Burma, No information came out from Burmese activists. May be people around the world might think, the struggle for democracy and freedom in Burma might be slow down or cool down, if they think like that way, they are totally wrong. Like the wave hit the beach, if the people around the world think that the wave is smoothed by the beach after hit then they are totally wrong because there are a lot of undercurrents under the surface after the wave hit the beach and the next wave will be hit again and again and again.

As a Buddhist, one must believe that nothing is permanent, The Military Junta will never last forever, even the mighty super power Dictator country like Soviet Union was fall down by the democracy movement.

We must avoid mentioning Than Shwe's Thug army as the Burmese Army because The Burmese Army which was founded by General Aung San was not the same as the Thugs Army which was made used and headed by Than Shwe and his puppets.

It is not the ethnic Burmese Army is suppressing and torturing the other ethnic minority races, it is Than Shwe puppet thug Army who suppressed and tortured all the ethnic groups such as Burmese(Bamah ethnic), Shan, Karen, Kahin, Chin, Araken, Kayah, Mon, Palaung, Padaung etc . For example during U Thant uprising, Rangoon University Student were killed/murdered by the Ne Win's Commandos which were formed with mostly Chin ethnic soldiers(the infamous Red Scarf). Than Shwe Army create a Karen Militia Thugs( DKBA) who are mainly Buddhist to fight against the own ethnic Karen group KLNA who are mainly Christain. They(Than Shwe and his puppets) also organized a group of thugs(most of them are ethnic Bamah(burmese)) to assasinate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her party members at Central Burma near Deepayin Town.

Than Shwe and its Thug Army create ethnic tension by letting one ethnic group to beat/killed other ethnic groups or create fighting among own ethnic group which have different religion believes among themselves or who are not the same ideology as them.

So it is not the same Burmese National Army which was founded by General Aung San is suppressing the Ethnic Minorities, it is the Fascist Nazi Than Shwe Thug Army is suppressing all the people, all the ethnic groups including ethnic Burmese(Bamah) of Burma.

Than Shwe used his thug army to make the Ethnic tension, the Religion Tension so that they can practise "Divide and Rule" policy. This is the reason they always mentioned themselves as Burmese Tat-ma-daw and claimed as that "Country will fall apart" if the Than Shwe Nazi Fascist Army(Tat-ma -daw) is not in control of everyone inside Burma". They use the word "Burmese Ta-ma-daw" for their Nazi Army, tat-ma-daw means Army in Burmese because this is to create tension between Burmese(Bamah) ethnic group and other ethnic groups inside Burma.

Than Shwe's' army while giving favour to the Wa army( who were just the thugs of former Burmese Communist Army now become the major Drug Producers of the world ) but at the same time Than Shwe Army is suppressing the Karen Ethnic groups.( I am nothing against the ordinary Wa people who actually (most of them) were staying inside China or around Burmese/Chinese Border area before 1988 and only after the 8888 uprising and after the cease fire agreement between Wa drugs Army and Than Shwe Nazi Army then so called " people" of the Wa "ethnic" group migratied into Burma, most of them only speak Yunnan's Chinese Language). Actually many of my friends are from the northern Shan State and they are much aware of the situation there..

The Main reasons of cease fire between Wa Drug Army and Than Shwe Thugs Arrny after the cracked down of the 8888 Democracy uprising was that Than Shwe can relocated its army into Cities and Towns of all over Burma(to supressed people calling for democracy and freedom) and also Than Shwe can relocated his Army divisions(his cracked units) to the Burmese/Thai Border to suppress newly formed student army group ABSDF(which was formed after the cracked down of students lead 8888 democracy uprising)

In fact what is actually happening in Burma is, it is the struggle between the people of Burma who want Democracy/Justice/freedom and the Military Junta which was started by Ne Win in 1962 and succeeded by Sein Lwin then Saw Maung and now by Than Shwe and his puppet Nazi Army, it is not the struggle between any ethnic groups or the struggle between any religious group.

We, the people of all the ethnic groups of Burma will never surrender and we will keep fighting for the Democracy and the freedom for our country Burma against the Than Shwe Military Junta and his Nazi Thugs who occupied our country since 1962.

Get rid of Dictators and their Thugs

Look at the youtube, it reminded me of the our 8888 Democracy uprising. This Iranian Dictator use the same method that Ne Win, Sein Lwin, Saw Maung, Khin Nyunt and Than Shwe using. Kill their own people by using their dogs(thugs) In Burma, Junta using militia thugs called "Swan Ah shin" and in Iran, the Dictator used "Basij". Both "Swan Ah Shin" and "Basij" are worse than animal.

US Congress Bans Gem Imports from Burma

We are pleased to write to you with major news: last night the U.S. Congress passed new, enhanced sanctions legislation banning the import of gems from Burma. We want to thank the thousands of you who telephoned, emailed, and met with your members of the House of Representatives and Senate. We also want to acknowledge the hard work carried out by the members of the House and the Senate -- as well as their staff members -- who led this effort.

What Does the Legislation Do?
- This new law closes a gaping loophole in the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act that had previously allowed Burmese gems to be sold in the United States, even though most all other imports are banned. The Burmese regime's sale of rubies and jade brings them upwards of $300 million per year -- much of that from unsuspecting American consumers. Now, that will come to an end!

- The law also creates the position of a U.S. "Special Coordinator" for Burma, whose job will be to reach out to other countries to build support for Burma's human rights activists and ultimately seek a peaceful transition to democracy in the country.

Why The Legislation Is Important and Next Steps
- Similar to how "conflict diamonds" help prop up a civil war in Africa, the sale of Burmese rubies and jade funnelled hundreds of millions of dollars to Burma's military dictatorship, financing their reign of terror.
We still have much more work to do -- the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act must be renewed and gems weren't the only source of funds for the military regime -- but for one day we want to pause and celebrate an important step forward.

He was the Founder of Burmese Army and He sacrificed his life for the Burma and Burmese people

According to the sources from inside Burma that Foreign Embassies were informed that they didn't need to attend the ArZarNi(Martyr's) Day Anniversary on 19 July due to the fact that the junta will only mark this very important occasion in Burmese History as the Township level occasion ONLY. (as a Burmese , I can't believe that they(junta) stoop that low!!! .. Bay Dah)

There is a Burmese proverb ... "A dog who ate the leather Blanket that he slept on without appreciating the fact the blanket gave him the place to sleep .. သေရ ေပၚ အိပ္၊ သေရ နား စား တဲ႕ ေခြး ".

Than shwe, you are same as that dog. May be worse than that dog.

General Aung San founded the Burmese Army and this is the fact you will never able to erase it.. You abused and misused of this patriotic Army to become your personal army for your personal gain instead of for the country and now you ignored the most Important person in Burmese History and Burmese Army History who sacrifice his life for the Burma Independence and you also ignored the one of the most Important day in Burmese History.

Burmese People will never forget Bogyoke(General) Aung San, no matter what all of you try to force the people to forget him. Bogyoke will always in Burmese People Heart.

South Afarica's Leader Don't be double Standard.

- Crackdown on Opposition Party

- Formed Government organize "Thugs"(Militia group) to terrorise its own people

- Blocked and Banned International news media

When last time whenever EU and US submitted the Humanitarian Intervention action for Burma in UN security Council, South Africa government together with China and Russia, always VOTE AGAINST of UN Humanitarian Intervention in Burma. (The reason of Voting against the Burma Policy is whatever happening in Burma is not effecting to the South Africa and besides that some of South Africa's "friendly" Africa Nations leaders are as corrupted as Burma Junta and South Africa's leader didn't want to upset the corrupted follows Africa Nations leaders. The South Africa Government always mentioned it as "Internal Affairs")

Now Zimbabwe is facing the same Problem as Burma. Instability in Zimbabwe, start effecting South Africa domestic issues and South Africa start lose face among the International Communities and among the other African Nations.

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South African ruling party leader Jacob Zuma said on Tuesday the situation in Zimbabwe was out of control and called for urgent intervention by the United Nations and the regional SADC grouping.

"The situation in Zimbabwe has gone out of hand, out of control... We cannot agree with what (the ruling) ZANU-PF is doing at this point in time," Zuma said at an investment conference.(link)

Cologne, Germany -- Ashin Sopaka, a Burmese monk was awarded International freedom prize. The prize was presented by the Society of liberty in Rome, Italy.

Ashin Sopaka, a well known Burmese monk currently in exile, played an important role in the Myanmar democracy movements, especially in the September 2007 "saffron revolution".

He is the founder of Cologne-Buddhism-Center (KBC) under the name of Santi Dhamma Vihara in Germany. He is currently lecturing Buddhist studies to the German.

About Ashin Sopaka
Ashin Sopaka was born in Wun Tho, Sagaing Division, Burma in April 16, 1980. He was ordained a novice in 1994 and a monk in 2000. He studied Buddhism at Khanti Pariyatti Monastery (Wun Tho, Sagaing Division, Burma), Wayalet Pariyatti Monastery (Rangoon, Burma) and Man Aung Monastery (Rangoon, Burma).

Ashin passed Buddhist examinations known as Pathamange, Pathamalatt, Pathamagyi in Burma. He arrived Colombo, Sri Lanka on 9th May, 2004 and studied B.A and M.A programme in Colombo.

He successfully completed his B.A and M.A from the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka. He got involved in the Burmese Saffron Revolution while studying at the Buddhist and Pali University.

I woke up from a dream in the middle of the night. I was with my daughter, playing in a small garden.

We were playing hide and seek. I was looking at her from behind a tree. She was so beautiful, with the prettiest smile on her face, looking for me happily. I couldn't hide anymore. I wanted her to find me. I wanted to hold her in my arms and kiss her face gently. I started to show myself to her, but, suddenly I saw three men -with black coats and ugly faces - watching from the shadows near my daughter. I stepped back. I wanted to be found by my daughter, not by them. I still saw my daughter, still looking for me with her innocent smile. I didn't want to hide anymore. I wanted her to find me, but these men would take me away and put me in hell. Then I woke up, with tears on my cheeks.

I have been separated from my daughter for nearly ten months. A midnight knock at our door in August last year changed our lives dramatically. The military junta's security forces took my husband Kyaw Min Yu (also known as Jimmy) on the night of August 21, 2007. He is a leader of the prominent dissident group, the 88 Generation Students, comprising former student leaders and former political prisoners. He and other leaders were taken from their homes that night by the authorities. As a former student activist and a former political prisoner myself, I knew very well how my husband and friends would be treated in the junta's interrogation cells. Therefore, when they came back to arrest me, I went into hiding.

But I must continue to lead the 88 Generation Students with my other colleagues, so that Burma may realise its freedom, and find justice and democracy someday. I must avoid being arrested. However, there are so many difficulties and hardships in moving secretly from one hiding place to another, and I didn't want my daughter to share these hardships. Therefore, I decided to send my three-month-old baby to my parents. Now, I miss her so much.

My mind wanders to University Avenue, where "the Lady", Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, has been detained under house arrest for so many years. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the world's only imprisoned Nobel Peace Prize recipient, will have to spend her 63rd birthday today alone in detention. She will be missing her two sons, too. Her strength and determination helps me and many women in Burma stand up for justice. I thank her for being with us and leading our movement. She is a great reminder to the world that the military junta that rules our country forcibly separates mothers and children.

Coincidentally, the UN Security Council will hold a debate in New York today on "Women, Peace and Security". This debate is a discussion of UNSC Resolution 1325, which was passed unanimously in October, 2000. Resolution 1325 "Calls on all parties to armed conflict to take special measures to protect women and girls from gender-based violence, particularly rape and other forms of sexual abuse, and all other forms of violence in situations of armed conflict." It also "Emphasises the responsibility of all States to put an end to impunity and to prosecute those responsible for genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes including those relating to sexual violence against women and girls, and in this regard, stresses the need to exclude these crimes, where feasible from amnesty provisions."

US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice is expected to chair the debate, with many world leaders discussing the development of women, peace and security. Will they discuss Burma? Will they remember Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the women of Burma who are suffering all forms of abuse by the military junta?

Burma is now in the midst of two conflicts. One is the 50-year-old civil war, raging between the Burmese military and the minority resistance forces, predominately in the eastern part of the country. Burmese troops are raping with impunity tribal women and girls, some as young as eight years old. Burmese soldiers use women in conflict areas as porters to carry their military equipment and supplies during the day, and use them as sex slaves at night. Many women have been brutally killed to erase the evidence of these crimes.

The other conflict is a 20-year old war, waged by the Burmese junta against its own unarmed citizens, who are calling for freedom, justice and democracy. Women activists are beaten, arrested, tortured and then put in prison for many years. Many female activists are mistreated and sexually assaulted by their interrogators and jailers. Children are used as bait by the authorities to get their mothers arrested. Of the 2.5 million people severely affected by Cyclone Nargis - many of whom the military junta simply left to die through starvation and disease - at least a million are women and girls. Recently, a UN expert said that up to 35,000 pregnant women, all cyclone survivors, are at extreme risk of death. However, they will never receive any care from the military.

I hope that Secretary of State Rice and other leaders at the UN Security Council will give consideration to Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and the women of Burma during their debate. Resolution 1325 is a great development, but implementation and enforcement is still in question. When the government itself is the abuser of human rights and the perpetrator of rape and other forms of gender-based violence, who will protect the victims? Who will end their tragedy? Who will secure the joyful reunion of mothers with their children?

The appeasement policy of some bureaucrats is shameful. Effective and urgent action from the UN Security Council is necessary to help the women in Burma. No more debate. Take action. Please let me be happily reunited with my daughter.

Roads Block in Rangoon on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's Birthday Today(19June 2008)
According to the information which comes out from Rangoon, there are so many road-blocks around Rangoon today(Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's Birthday), including at Prome road near Red Bridge(Formerly Known as "white Bridge" before 8888) which is near the Rangoon University(near Inya Lake) where so many students were beaten and drown by Junta Police in March 1988 Student Protest.

Burma arrests Suu Kyi supporters on her birthday

Rangoon (dpa) - Burmese authorities on Thursday arrested at least 30 supporters of opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi who had gathered to protest her five years of imprisonment on her birthday, eye witnesses said.

A group of National League for Democracy (NLD) members gathered outside their party headquarters in Rangoon to mark Suu Kyi's 63rd birthday which falls on Thursday by releasing 63 sparrows and shouting "Free Aung San Suu Kyi".

Seven government cars arrived shortly after the protest began and rounded up at least eight NLD members, including one Buddhist monk, taking them away to an unknown destination, security personnel confirmed. (Full story click here)

Thai PM is more foolish than the Junta

Thai PM Samak went to Burma and return empty handed but protect Junta. he said he saw Aid supplies donated by the HM Thai King at the relief centre so he said aid supplies are reaching to the Cyclone victims. WHAT A FOOL!!! he tried to please both HM the Thai king and the Junta.

HM Thai King donated the Aid supplies a week ago before Thai PM went to Burma. If the Junta really distributed the Aids supplies to the Cyclone victims, there would be no Aid Supplies at relief center, Aid should be with the cyclone victims but instead he still saw the Aid supplies at the relief center.

That's mean the Junta never distributed the Aid supplies and just keep them for show whoever come and inspect or visit the relief centre.

SAMAK your brain is so little, you didn't know logical thinking, how cam you become a PM. No wonder, that's why you are just a Thaksin follower like a puppy followed his master.

UN and Donation Countries Please monitor your donations supplies

The news were start coming out, those supplies donated by the various countries, UN and Humanitarian Organizations for cyclone victims are now start selling in the Rangoon's various Market and road side. Especially supplies from the Thailand.

Main Culprits are Members of the pro-government militia(terrorist Thugs officially setup by the Junta) the Union Solidarity and Development Association (USDA) and the police and the Fire fighters,

UN, International communities and various Humanitarian organization, don't bee too naive. The Junta are all crooks, make sure all the supplies which were donate by all of you, really received by the cyclone victims.

May 10, 2008 Here are the latest news today.
(1) Military Government has sealed off the disaster area (delta region)
(2) No one goes in and out.
(3) Soldiers and check points are every where.
(4) They stop all the cars, trucks, buses
(5) If they find relief supplies, the confiscate the supplies.
(6) They arrest anyone whose ID card does not belong to that region.
(7) There are individuals risking their lives to go in there through jungles, swamp lands, etc. with whatever relife supply they can carry in their hands.
(8) Massive relief efforts are outlawed.
(9) No one dares to go help.
(10) Donation to shelters requre permission from the thugs.
(11) Any violators will be beaten by thugs.
(12) Thugs are searching for people who carrying cameras, camcorders, etc. and arrest them.
(13) It is a big geographic area but only handful of roads going in and out and they sieze control of the roads and the area.
(14) Army, police, are everywhere supported by plain-clothed spies and thugs armed with merchetes, guns, bamboo/wooden sticks, and walkie talkies.
(15) Law enforcement there is NOT to serve people. They are to suppress the people. The law enforcement is controlled by the miliraty. Basically, law enforcement is not our friend.
(16) The situation there is not good and military governement does not want you to see.

I just received this..
1. Emphasizing to Phyar Pone Township, authority declare "curfew" on top of "State of Emergency" to forbid not to go out at nights, but they are dumping dead bodies to the river at nights.

2. Today, all the photo shops in yangon were informed by gorverment NOT to print any Nargis-related photographs.

3. 2 days ago Khaw Thu (a famous Myanmar actor) was beaten up by Swan Arr Shin and USDA when they were trying to donate relief goods directly.

4. In Kyauk Than township, 2 monasteries and 1 school (now being used as temporary shelters for storm victims),are forced to move out at latest by 14 May as they are going to use the school and monastry as the voting station

5. Regarding rescue missions, 1 RedCross ship sank. 1 helicopter down.

Villagers were forced to vote "yes" to the Junta Constitution

At Some Villages in Nam Kham Township, Shan States, villagers were forced to vote "yes" to the Junta's Constitution.

Villagers had to put theballot infornt of the Township Authorites such as Nam Kham Township Chairman U tin Hlaing, Township Chief Administrator U Hla Win, Commander Lt. Colonel Thein Htun of Infantry 290 Regiment.

Lt. Colonel Thein Htun sat beside the Ballot box and the villagers have to show the commender they tick on the "yes" Vote before they(villagers) put inside the ballot box

At the Kun Hane Village, one Villager U Main Swae tick on the (X) no vote. The commander shout at the old man "What are you doing? Are you rebel against the country. Do you want to be send to prison" Then the township Chief administrator told the Commander..oh this person is uneducated, I will give him the new ballot and let him vote "yes".

After that no more villagers dare to vote "No" any more and the Kun Hane Village Secretary personally ticked "Yes" vote for the villagers before put into the ballot box!!!!!

Another news from Kachin State, Myitkyina Township people were given PRE-TICK "Yes" vote ballots in advance.

While 100,000 people died and over 1 million people are homeless because of cyclone Nargis, these junta not interest of saving people, they only thinking about how to cheat the vote for the referendum!! They are worst then the evil

TO All the Humanitarian Aid Organizations, the Humanitarian Agencies, and the International Government Bodies,

Probably all of you had already got this information mentioned below;..
"Burma wants supplies but not foreign aid workers, its foreign ministry says, hours after the UN chief urged military leaders to prioritise relief work. "

Why does the Junta so scare to allow the Aid workers and experts come into Burma? Why?

Don't let them cheat all of you. Just don't give them the supplies without any supervisions otherwise All the Supplies means for the Cyclone Nargis Victims will ended up in the military stock pile and eaten by their soldiers, make profit by the commanders and the money donated will go to the generals' Bank account.

We had been experience this so many times BEFORE, the computers which were donated for the civilians universities were ended in the military academies, medical equipments which were for the civilian Hospitals were ended in the military hospitals, UNDP (United Nation Development Programme) funded scholarships were taken by the Military personals, cheated the UNDP authorities by changing their Title from Colonel, Major, Captain so and so to U(means Mr. in Burmese) so and so , Director/deputy Director of so and so dept., etc

So please beware and don't let them cheat all of you and divert supplies for the Cyclone victims to their Military barracks.

These idiot Junta said they can manage the distributions by themselves, now already 1 week had been passed, what did they do..people are starving and dying. (Please Read "Encountered bad experience .... article below)

Encountered Bad Experience while try to donate supplies to Cyclone victims

I found this comment posted in the C box by someone, his/her own experience of (when went to donate food to the cyclone victims) how the Junta's Thugs prevented people to donate supplies to victim and try to take credit for themselves as they are the one who make the donations.

Actually the gov should do something , they said they are helping to ေလေဘး ဒုကၡသည္ (cyclone victims).I just want to share my own experience , our (xxxx) embassy families went to ဒုကၡသည္ (Cyclone victims) camp to distribute food and rice .

The ‘Kyant Phount ’ (the Junta's organized Thugs Terrorist group)did not allow us to enter to campus . They told us to leave the food with them , they don’t allow any outsiders . How are we going to help them , they don’t have enough man power to support to people but they don’t allow others to help . How stupid are they ?

We don’t believe to ‘Kyant Phount’ , is we give $1 , 50 cents will go to their pocket and 50 cent will go to people .

We saw U Kyaw Thu(Famous Actor who is doing charity work with his own money) from ‘Nar Yay’ organization too . They came to distribute rice for people . But the ‘Kyant Phount’ did not allow them to enter and asking to hand over rice to them .

We went to ‘Hlaing Tharyar’(Shanty town just outskirt of Rangoon, one of the worst hit area) and meet with some people they said they haven’t receive any aid .

Now the whole world sees the JUNTA true color.

Cyclone Nargis hit Burma already a week ago and started showing the real damage, so far 100,000 people died and millions(many millions for sure) were homeless and nothing to eat and nowhere to stay.

All the countries ready to help the Burmese people. They are waiting at the Thailand Bangkok Airport ready to ship Tons and Tons of supplies to Burmese people. {According to the latest report they just allow one UN flight to Land at Rangoon after one week the cyclone hit Burma!! believe it or not!!}

What the military Junta doing .. NOTHING. NOTHING AT ALL. They asked the AID workers to apply for VISA who come and help their Burmese people. They even close the Embassy in Bangkok today(Thai Public holiday). Do they have time for the Holiday while their own Burmese people are DYING. What Kind of Devil these Military People are?

These Military Junta they don't interest in saving their Own people from Dying. They Don't care about the Millions of Burmese people are Homeless and Nothing to eat, No shelter, NO food.

But these Junta are planing. But they are NOT Planing about how to save and help the Burmese People. They are ONLY planing how to get hold of the power when the international Aid people are coming.(They think international Aid Agency and volunteers as an invasion force!!!). They are planing how to gain Politically from the Cyclone Nargis, How to make the their names and their faces become Popular by standing in front of TV camera and giving food to cyclone survivors. They are planning how to RELABEL on the supplies which were sent by international Aid organization with their own name so that it looks like the supplies were send by them(by doing so they(junta) think Burmese people will start thinking the Generals as saviours and vote "YES" to their "so called" draft constitution)

And where is Gen. Than Shwe the "so called" country leader? Already one week passed, even not saying single word about the Cyclone, not a single word he felt sorry for the people. No where insight.(probably hiding and packing his properties which were stolen from the countries, probably he might think it is beginning of the end, as like others generals he might think the invasion forces(International Aid Organizations) are coming. (Probably he will come out on TV tomorrow and say pity for the victims after he was informed about my article, like as they always do, trying to prove their critics are wrong!!)

Now the whole world see these Than Shwe and his generals and his followers true colors.

Don't talk about whether they interest or not in Democracy and Human Rights.

THEY DON"T EVEN INTEREST 100,000 OF THEIR OWN BURMESE PEOPLE DYING. THEY DON'T INTEREST MILLIONS OF THEIR OWN BURMESE PEOPLE ARE HOMELESS AND NOTHING TO EAT AND DYING, HUNGRY, THIRSTY AND STARVING.

WHAT THEY ONLY INTEREST IS HOW TO SECURE THEIR POWER, HOW TO HOLD ON TO THEIR POWER. HOW TO MAKE POLITICAL GAIN OUT OF CYCLONE NARGIS. HOW TO POSE IN FRONT OF TV CAMERA DISTRIBUTING OTHER PEOPLE DONATIONS AS THEIRS.

Where are the soldiers who killed monks and people in last year September 2007. That time thousands of them came quickly all over the cities and countries to kill people. Now where are they(Military) to clean up the damages and debris? Where are their Thugs who beat up monks and students last year? No one in sight. They always says they protect the country where are they now? Are they protecting the country or the generals?

If you look at the TV news from the international media, you can see all the cleaning up were/are done by the civilians and monk themselves. No army no authorities came and help especially in Rangoon(They(junta) hate people from Rangoon because they think Rangoon people always up against them.)

Now Military Junta showing their TRUE COLORS very clearly to the world. Now the world know what kind of these people are. They(Junta) are worst than the evil.

According to the announcement make by the Overseas Burmese Patriots Organizations(Singapore), Totel amount of Donation money collected were S$62997.10 within 5 days(4 May to 8 May). Some of the members of the OPB today take a morning flight to Burma together with the supplies and they will directly go to Latbutta Town which was considered as worst hit area.

How Low they are? Junta take political gain out of Nargis

You must be already familiar with the regular news about how Junta not allow international Humanitarian Aids workers come into Burma or the Junta initially reject the offered from UN. Some of you will wonder how come? the country was badly hit by the cyclone and the country ruler rejected the Humanitarian Aids offer from other countries.

As for Burmese, these things are nothing news, these are the Junta STANDARD PROCEDURE. They want the Grass root people of Burma seen them as Saviors of them.

Like the way they always practice. Whenever there were donations from others countries for the natural disasters victims, what they(junta) did was they didn't allow the Aid workers from donation countries came along with the supplies. Why? There is 2 reasons for this.

First reason; They(junta) didn't want the donation countries people know that they RELABEL the donations supplies as donate from the generals or the various Military Divisions.(so that they can take credit as a donors to the general Public)

Second reason; If they(junta) allow the Humanitarian Aid workers go to the disaster area, the local people will start knowing that the military cannot handle the situation that's why people from other countries come and help. They Junta don't want this. What they want is, to make the people think that they(military) are the only organization that help them(public).

They have been practise like this for so many years. (That is one of the reason, the junta cutoff its people with outside world)

Now look at the recent TV from Myanmar Television. Instead of showing how much damage or how much people suffered, the TV showed the General stood in front of the people and giving token supplies and also showed the supplies Boxes with the names of the Generals on it as all these supplies were donated by them.

How low they are, they used the Cyclone disaster as the opportunity for their political gain and their popularity.

If they really care about the Burmese people, let the International Aid agency come into Burma, like the way Indonesia allowed the aid workers to come to Indonesia freely during tsunami.

JUNTA, I CHALLENGE YOU..if you REALLY CARE about our BURMESE PEOPLE allow the Aid workers come into Burma FREELY.

People died everywhere and people need help, Forget about all these DAMN Politics.

Rangoon in the Middle of the storm

On the road of Rangoon people were running with their belongings and tried to stop all the cars passed by.

The local eye witness who was fortunately able to contact explained that "Rangoon was totally devastated" hysterically repeated again and again.

The person who looked around the Rangoon after the rain stop said he couldn't dare to go another 1 km and turned back because he didn't bare to see the total destruction of the Rangoon city. The big tress and the Big sign Board were felled on the road and the houses everywhere.

The person continued that he had never seen like this in his whole life.

According to the sources from Rangoon, Kyauktan town which was near by Rangoon had more destruction.

In Rangoon, at Sanchaung Township, all the zinc roofs were Flying in the air and the sky was red colour.

The Cyclone started around Friday midnight and still going strong till now(Saturday morning 3 May 2008). All the electricity and telephone line were cut off and all the zinc roofs were flying around in the air and there were a big loud strange noises.

The were more destruction in Irrawaddy division and expected high causality.

Near Hanthawadi circle(near the Burma Broadcasting and TV stations), the big trees were uprooted and all the big sign board were felled apart and the wind was still strong and there were no government Municipal people to clear the Road and the debris.

All the satellite dishes were destroyed and all the zinc roofs were spread everywhere. No one dared to go outside and even there were not a single dog nor cat on the street.

The rain drops moved HORIZONTALLY like the steam from the cattle pot. Since the roof are destroyed people were the nailed the door from outside and locked the door and stayed in their houses with fear.

Since people were not expected that the cyclone was that big, no one prepare to stock up the food and there might be a danger of food shortage everywhere.

Feature: Deadly cyclone changes face of Myanmar's biggest city YANGON, May 3 (Xinhua) --

Some people in Myanmar's biggest city of Yangon were busy with cutting and clearing fallen trees Saturday afternoon in the wake of a midnight-to-noon violent and deadly cyclone storm Nargis, which Yangon residents have never experienced in the past six decades.

Taking the interval that the cyclone stopped on Saturday afternoon, housewives were also seen rushing for food after they were trapped for over 10 hours at home without food from Friday midnight when the Nargis, which occurred on the Bay of Bengal, stormed the under-developed old capital.

The terrible cyclone, at a wind speed of about 192 kilometers per hour, has almost totally devastated the former capital.

Major infrastructures related to municipality, telecommunications, transport, electric power and water supply as well as private apartment buildings were hard hit by the severe cyclone.

Observers here estimate that it needs years of endeavors to rebuild the city.

On Friday midnight, the Nargis started to emerge amid warning. As the storm wind became stronger, people woke up to witness the onslaught of the cyclone all night. With wind blowing sound turning louder, many zinc roofs atop various buildings were torn off one after another, falling on streets amid the heavy rain.

Windows were crushed, satellite dishes were stricken to deformation, dropping from atop.

Almost all giant commercial advertisement signboards were even blown to pieces scattering on the streets. Unable to withstand the strong wind, many big and old-aged trees on the streets, gardens and private residences fell one after another, turning Yangon into a forest city overnight.

The storm also cut off electricity in the city. Buses stopped running and all flight and train schedules were suspended.

The Nargis has lashed coastal regions of the country's southwestern Ayeyawaddy division since Friday morning, covering Haing Gyi Island, Pathein, Myaungmya, Laputta, Mawlamyinegyun, Kyaiklat, Phyarpon and Bogalay. The State Radio confirmed in a night broadcast that some of these areas were almost totally destroyed.

Up to five vessels capsized in the Yangon Port, and an investigation is underway for casualties and loss. Meanwhile, Myanmar declared three divisions Yangon, Bago and Ayeyawaddy and two states Kayin and Mon as natural-disaster-hit regions.

A national central committee for prevention of natural disaster was also formed with Prime Minister General Thein Sein as Chairman to promptly and effectively carry out relief and resettlement tasks.

63 days of walking Athein and Zaw min htwe walked 1720 miles , they are walking 25 or 27 miles a day on I-30 Small High way in Nebraska State .

At the moment they are heading to East Nebraska and Iowa border, they will reach on the border in next 3 weeks of walking in this months on May . 1,500 Miles left to walk in next 2 or 3 months till they arrive to New York United Nation security council . They will rest in Iowa State for few days and Join with Iowa Burmese community .

On the 27 April 2008, under the bright sunny day light even though it was a rest day(Sunday) for other people but for self motivated Burmese patriots it was a day of the show of the united strength of democracy loving people. Some wearing Red tee-shirt with a word “NO” printed on the front and the back and some wearing red cap were slowly gathering and filling up the narrow road leading towards the Burmese Embassy.

All these Burmese patriots line up both side of the road in orderly manner waiting for their name to be called by embassy staff to vote inside the embassy compound. After the noon time the crowd grew up to 4000 and the queue line was almost up to the Tangling Mall traffic light which was about ½ kilometer from the Burmese embassy.

The embassy staffs were calling the voter names from 9:00am in the morning till 1:00pm in the afternoon but they stop the voting process from 1 pm to 4pm. They didn’t make any announcement; they didn’t concern anything about their fellow countrymen who were waiting patiently under the hot sun just to vote for their true feeling about the draft constitution which was written by the junta without the listening to the people voices and desire. Singapore police forces were also out in full force to check the situation between voters and embassy staff.

To see the scene of some youth from OPB (Organization of Patriotic Burmese, Singapore) distributed water among the voters make you to feel proud as a Burmese people. It showed the unity of Burmese people against the military Junta. Around 4:00pm voters were allowed to vote again but some voters who were wearing red tee-shirt with “No” word were not allowed to go inside for vote unless they took out their tee-shirts.

But some students only wearing the tee-shirt as their tops and nothing underneath it so the embassy staff finally and RELUCTANTLY allow them to wear the red tee-shirt while they voting. A moment later the in-charge of the voting came out from the office and announced that there were no more voting due the SHORTAGE of BALLOTS and they have to order again from Burmese capital and it will only continue on 28 and 29 April until late night.

When the voters asked to announce that arrangement officially by putting a notice on the Embassy wall and notice board, there were no replies from Embassy authority!!! For last three days total numbers of Burmese people who managed to vote were not even thousand and according to the one embassy staff, Embassy sent out about 15,000 invitation letters to Burmese people in Singapore to come for voting, now after not more than thousands voted, the were no more ballots!!! Did they expect that only few hundred will come and vote?

Is that means they didn’t even prepare for the ballots for 10,000 people even though they sent out 15,000 invitation letter. Did they purposely doing this as per their cunning way of doing things?????

The Burmese Buddhist Monks who were in Singapore came to support the voters, were warmly welcome and pay respect by the crowd which make the scene to reflect back the time of saffron revolution.

Around 6:00pm everyone stand up and sang the National Anthem from their heart and ended their day.

The sunlight was slowly fading and the evening become darker but for the Burmese people, who were wearing Red Tee-shirt to show the feeling against the Junta, inside their heart and mind and inside their soul the patriotism, nationalism and unity will bright for eternity and even the darkest night cannot stop that brightness from their hearts.

Majority of Burmese from Lion city Vote "NO"

On the 26 April, self aware Burmese Patriotic people were eagerly waiting in front of Burmese embassy at St. Martin Road off Orchard Road. Their face showed their determination of to do the right things for the country.

Some whispering, some shouting to show their dissatisfaction of the way Burmese Embassy Staffs working slowly for the voting Process.

Even though the law mentioned whoever is 18 years old and able to prove that he is Burmese citizen can able to vote for the so called "draft constitution" referendum but some are not allowed to vote, even though they explained politely to the embassy staff that they are already over 18 years old and they have their VALID Burmese passport which is the solid prove of they are Burmese citizen and they are still not allowed to vote and these Burmese people are asking the embassy staffs what are the reason.

The Only reply they got from the Burmese embassy staff was "because they were not on the list"!!! which was the only answer the embassy staff repeated and repeated again for all the questions and equiry(What a Bullshit !! the law already mentioned if you are 18 and above and prove of you are Burmese citizen you can vote and they are still mentioned no name on the list, What list,, we don't need that list..we already proved we are Burmese citizen!!! ..baydah)

What so ever, according to the people who went there and vote said the HIGH MAJORITY Vote for ..NO!!!.

Whether Junta try to cheat the Result or not, In Singapore,as per actual witness account and as per the voter themselves said ..that the Higher majority of the votes are all NO NO NO!!!

Bay Dah's Statement in English and Burmese

During the period of Pre World War II in Burma, the Indian Chettiars are the main Money lenders to the poor Burmese Farmers and they benefited a lot from tricking the uneducated Burmese farmers by asking them to sign(make a cross) on the piece of Paper before they borrowed the money.

Actually since the farmers are uneducated and they cannot read what were written inside that piece of paper and out of ignorant and naively, they just put a signature(which is actually just put a "X" on the paper since they are uneducated they didn't know how to sign their name) on that paper. Later when the time was up the Chettiers used this piece of paper and told the poor farmer that he agreed this and that while you borrowed money now since you cannot payback the money as per agreement we will take your land, your house and your daughter in return.

By these way Many Burmese farmers were cheated and loose their land, their home and worst of all their daughters become mistress of that Chettiars because of that piece of paper that they signed Blindly on that paper without knowing what was written on that.

Now Than Shwe and his followers are trying to do the same TRICK on the Burmese People.

They didn't explain to the whole country what is inside this "so called" draft constitution. They DON"T distributed the booklet of Draft constitution sufficiently(eg. only one book at the Burmese embassy in UK and 8 books at the Burmese embassy in Singapore and people have to put their passport or ID as a deposit at the embassy to read the draft constitution within the embassy compound) and they still ordered the people to vote for the referendum for that unexplained draft constitution.

Later they will use this vote count and will cheat the Burmese people and the whole world to retain their power.(Did all of you ever heard in the world history that people have to vote for the draft referendum which was never explain to the public that what was written inside..what a joke!!!)

Since we even don't know what is written inside, we will NEVER vote "yes" (actually we don't even need to read what is inside because we all know it is all about for them to retain their power)
All Burmese PLEASE BEWARE of this TRICK!! Don't let Chettier Than Shwe and his Followers cheat you. If all of you get cheated then you and your whole Burma will lost the freedom, Human rights and Democracy forever.

Only action that will save your future is Vote "NO"

Japanese Police used EXCESS Force to suppress Burmese Protesters who came to Burmese Embassy to vote "No vote" to Draft Constitution referendum.

U Myint Thein(NLD), Ma Thaw Dar Min Htun(BDA), Ko Soe Min Aung(BDA), Ma Mya Phyu Pyar(Lu Baung Thit), Ma Naw Tha Balu and other 8 including one woman were injured.

Ma Thaw Dar Min Htun who is pregnant was beaten at her stomach and now in danger of getting loss her unborn baby.

Some of the girls loose their dress and skirts because of Japanese police uses excess force to suppress the demonstrators.

There were five military Helicopters hovering above the Burmese Embassy. According to one witness one of the Burmese Embassy staff was swearing at the protesters and threatening that whoever come in the the compound to vote, embassy staffs will beat them up.

The way the Japanese police suppressed the protesters are similar to the way the Burmese Military Junta did to the protesters said one eye witness.

MediaCorp News bagged five of seven awards given out at a ceremony on Friday night. Its documentary, entitled "The March of the Saffron Robes", won the coveted News Story of the Year.

The protest marches by the Buddhist monks in Myanmar last September made news around the world. But covering the event, which saw Myanmar authorities crack down on protesters in the reclusive country, was a major challenge.

Seasoned current affairs producer Sharon Hun and her team took the bull by the horns and tamed it. Immediately after the story broke, the team overcame the odds to produce "The March of the Saffron Robes" documentary in just three days, when similar productions would have taken much longer.

The judges felt that the documentary was a timely story that gave much-needed context and perspective to the Myanmar issue. "I think because it involves Myanmar - the country has been closed for many years - getting independent opinion and information and even access into the country was a challenge in itself.

We were very fortunate to have a group of people who were willing to share their story with us," said producer Sharon Hun. (Full story here)

I am wondering whether the UNHCR officials from MaeSod and US Embassy Staff from Bangkok were confused or mistaken the identity between the International Burmese Monks Organization President Monk, Sayardaw U Pannavamsa and the Fake monk(in his passport A015054, his name is spelled as U PANNA VASMA). May be thats the reason, they(UNHCR and US Embassy) send the fake monk to US quickly? Any Suggestion? (all are welcome to suggest)

I want to ask all the officers and the soldiers, if you call yourself People's Army, now think again and ask yourself which side am I really protecting now? Look around and see what is happening at your Village, Your town and your City and your country. Think before you decide, think which group is getting richer and richer and which groups are getting poorer and poorer. Think carefully, the People Army belongs to which side and also decide which side do you have to protect.

When Ko Athein and Zaw Min Htwe approached Boise City on the 22 March 2008, there were Police officers from Boise City, Idaho were waiting for them to escort them into the city. That make them not so surprise because they had already informed Idaho Police department before crossing the Idaho State Border.

What make them surprise was that they met a person who can able to challenge their courage and determination. That person was not a Solider, not an Olympic Champion, not a Rambo but a Burmese Lady Daw Kyi Kyi.

Daw Kyi Kyi..who??? Daw Kyi Kyi the Brave Heart, the Iron Lady. Daw Kyi Kyi had already undergone for 6 Heart surgery operations for last few years. She has a weak heart but it is a Brave Heart. She is a strong democracy Supporter and she totally agree with the campaign of the 88 Generation Students of sending messages to New York and wanted to support the campaign.

As soon as she heard that Ko Athein and Ko Zaw Min Htwe left Portland, she was ready, she already make-up her mind that she will and she must walk with this 2 young Brave 88 generation students to show them her support. She was waiting for the day, this 2 brave students arriving her City.

So on the 22 March 2008, she couldn't wait any longer, she went outskirt of the town and waiting for them. Here comes Ko Athein and Ko Zaw Min Htwe, they were greeted by the lady whose heart and the courage are as brave as and as strong as them.

Out of respect, they offered her the Fighting Peacock Flag, a symbol of Burmese Students Fighting Spirit. She held the The Flag with great pride and walking together with them...one step, two step......10 steps..NOOOOOOO ..she was walking the distance about 10 City Blogs together with Athein and Zaw Min Htwe and entered the city walking together with them. Incredible!!
She has a Weak heart But it is the BRAVE HEART!!!! Her courage and determination are made out of Steel. WE SALUTE and RESPECT you DAW KYI KYI.

On the Walk for Freedom blog site, Athein and Zaw Min Htwe mentioned that the Fox12 News (Boise, Idaho state) channel interviewed them and asking the meaning of the Fighting Peacock Flag Logo.
In my opinion, they don't need to explain what is the meaning. What they just needed to do was, just introduced Daw Kyi Kyi to those TV people and just told them if you want to know the meaning, just look at this brave lady what she has just done... .that is the meaning of the Logo...the Fighting Spirit..Never say die... Daw Kyi Kyi gave us the great example of how we can support for Freedom of Burma and the Walk for Freedom campaign!!! Well Done..Well done ..Well done.

Junta Spy Fake monk named U Pyin Nya WunTha is on the way to US, left Bangkok on the Thai Airways Flight No. TG792 to New York on 19 March 2008 with Passport No. A015054, Name on Passport: U PANNA VAMSA

After the last year Saffron Revolution, the opportunist junta spy fake monk names U Pyinnya Wun Tha is on the way to United States.

Around year 2000 he was overseas and was arrested and prisoned for the work permit problem. Even inside the prison his integrity was really bad and he informed the activities of the political prisoners to the Prison Authorities.(Ask about this to ex-political prisoners)

He got bad name inside Burma as a monk and he went to border town Mae Sok(Thailand) and applied for going to third country as refugee at UNHCR.(Check AAPP). Even though he was applying for refugee status, he didn't stay inside refugee camp and he was travelling to and fro between Bangkok and Mae Sot and staying together with a woman with a name Ma Sandar. Later he went back into Burma giving an excuse of to show around the boss of Ma Sandar inside Burma.

During September Saffron Revolution, he stood beside the monks and took his photo himself with his phone camera and made fake evidence that he participated in Saffron Revolution. He claimed himself as Leader of Thawtuzana Bikkhu group and gave interviews.(Actual leader of Thawtuzana Bikkhu group is Ahshin Ahdipadi from Maggin Monestary).

Then he came out to Bangkok with Sangha(monk) Passport after Saffron Revolution.

While all the monks who participated in the Saffron Revolution were arrested and beaten and tortured inside prison, he was able to apply and get the Sangha Passport was his BIGGEST Questionable and Suspicious Act.

Then he came back again to Border Town Mae Sot and try to apply again as refugee for going to Third country, he was not only applying for himself, he also helped to apply for the others Junta spy monks who came out from Burma by Flight with proper passport.(Those real monks who participated in the Saffron Revolution ran away from junta through the Border area by foot and no passport at all. Bay Dah remarks)

Some monks who already arrived earlier in Bangkok have to pay money to him for going to Third country as refugee.

He rent a room in Mae Sot and then bring the fake monks from Ranong and Bangkok to apply for refugee Status for going to third country(He acted as a middle man)

He tried to put wedges between the real monks who ran away from Junta after Saffron Revolution to create instability among the real monks and also persuade the monks to carryout protest.(Ask about this to Sayadaw U Kawvida(saffron revolution monk) who is already in US and also ask to the monks at Mae Sok).

There are other 2 suspicious monk like him still inside Thailand are U Nandi Thayna and U Revata(work before as Sasana Mawli Thai Information service representative). (Details of the two monks will be published later)

U Pyinnya Wuntha arrived Bangkok with a passport on the 23 October 2007 and he got the Thai VISA on 18 October 2007. His passport No is A015054, name on passport U PANNA VAMSA. See the copy of his passport below.

The democracy Activists informed UNHCR and United Stated Embassy in Bangkok about this suspicious monk information and Data but officials from both UNHCR and US Embassy Consular section didn't bother and ignored the information from Democracy Activist Group.

UNHCR from Mae Sot already got the information about this fake monk who came out from Burma with passport 3 months ahead but they didn't make any enquiry and even make a special arrangement for him to go to US under priority list.

International Organization for Migrations also allowed U Pyinnya Wuntha demand of that he will go ahead with passport and wait at the Bangkok and that he didn't go under the refugee programme.(please ask about this to Ko Aung Wae(Poet), Ma Tin Mo Lwin and Ko Hlaing Moe Than who are flying out from Bangkok together with him)

At this moment real refugee monks, students and public who ran away from Junta were denied to get Refugee status by the UNHCR officials. Now we are wondering what is the relationship between the Mae Sot UNHCR officials and the Junta. Is there a Big Conspiracy?

Now we are worried about that UNHCR will send those fake refugees junta spies who came out from Burma with proper passport to the Third Countries as refugees. Also we would like to tell to the United States officials not to take these fake refugees for the sake of getting information, please consider the plight of real refugees.

U Pyinya Wuntha was flying out from Bangkok to New York with Thai International Flight No. TG792 on the 19 March 2008.

Be aware of the Junta supporters, spy and their Fifth elements. Oppose and expose those Junta Supporters who help U Pyinnya Wuntha able to go to United States.

Yesterday, I went to see the Rambo movie, after the movie, I feel very sad and sorry for my country and for my fellow countyman, for all the enthics groups, for my fellow brothers and sisters. No Thanks to the Junta, now our country is INFAMOUS in the world for the WRONG Reasons.

Vicious Circle (An Appeal To Readers)
Dear ReadersI have drafted a letter to the ILO office, concerning the case of the 6 men who were sentenced to long term imprisonment. I strongly believe that this is one of the most unjust cases and therefore am trying to send it off to anywhere that I hope will be able to help.

I call it a 'Vicious Circle' because the nastiness seems going around all the time. Junta rules the country badly---people are impoverished--- junta force poor people to work for them ----people are frustrated---anger and rebellion leads to imprisonment --- appeals to international help, (like ILO)who are trying hard from outside ---- weak agreement reached---- junta carries on with forced labour ---- people turn to the only hope(the ILO-Junta agreement)-- attempts to use agreement and activate others ---- arrest by junta (ignoring agreement and using different laws) and imprisoned --- junta continues to intimidate and rule the country ---- and so on..... Unless we all help to break this vicious circle (this is only the ILO case, there are thousands more other 'circles' there), the country will continue to drown in shallow water and poor guys like those 6 will be forever ending up in prisons.

If you agree with my belief, could you please join in the action, to do something about this serious breach of basic human rights. I mean to send this to ILO offices. I also hope to do a petition or email circulation.

If you are good at IT and can create something please come forward to help. If you have better ideas, then propose them. If you have legal knowledge then advise us on some actions. My idea is to try as hard as possible to give pressure to the ILO and UN to help and support us.

What is the point of international organizations if they cannot intervene during such times when the breaches of basic human rights are so flagrant?

Dear Officials Could I please inform you of an unusual and distressing incident in Rangoon, Burma, which is reported in Scoop Politics Independent News. , tody. The report stated that 6 men were sent to long-term imprisonment; four, Thu Rein Aung, Wai Lin, Myo Min and Kyaw Min to prison terms of 28 years, and two others, Ko Kyaw Kyaw and Nyi Nyi Zaw each received sentences of 20 years.

This was their reward for their part in organising labour rights discussions at the American Centre in Rangoon last May Day.

As an International Labour Organisation could you therefore please take action to help these men as they did not commit any crime.

All they did according to the report was to organise labour rights discussions, perhaps trying to understand the announcement of ILO about the 'Understanding' reached with the Government of Myanmar.

[The GENEVA (ILO News) stated that the International Labour Office (ILO) announced today that it had concluded an Understanding with the Government of Myanmar designed to provide, as previously requested by the International Labour Conference and the ILO Governing Body, a mechanism to enable victims of forced labour to seek redress (Reference ILO/07/04) ].

It is obvious that although agreeing to such an 'Understanding', the military government in Burma will never publically issue this kind of announcement and it is up to people like those 6 men to assist in raising public awareness and assisting in educating ordinary people concerning their own rights.

Very sadly, the cunning military junta have also made their own laws to prevent such discussions and can always find ways to intimidate the public with the exemplary long-term prison sentences targetted at the deterrence of further action, which is in itself one of the junta's more crude abuses of basic human rights.

More worryingly, the news also reported that when contacted, the ILO office in Rangoon declined to comment. Could you please find out the situation of the ILO Rangoon office, in particular as to why they are unable to be more supportive to the the brave young people whom they have 'activated' ?

For the people of Burma who suffer the most cruel, blatant and unremitting repression under this ruling military junta, the international organisations like ILO and UN are the crucial and only lifeline. The people of Burma deserve the sound and reliable support of these agencies when it really counts, and whatever back-up and reassurance they can provide.

Could I there fore make an appeal to you to act and do everything in your power for the release of those 6 men immediately.

I understand that there are many thousands more in prisons, who were also unjustly captured there by the military government but this particular case, which is closely related to ILO and his work, could be a model for those in Burma who needs all the support and encouragement they can get to fight back the bully and abuse, subjected to them, in most systematic way. ("The Understanding provides that alleged victims of forced labour in Myanmar will have full freedom to submit complaints to the ILO Liaison Officer in Yangon. The Liaison Officer will then make a confidential preliminary assessment as to whether a case involves forced labour, in order that such cases can be investigated by the Myanmar authorities and appropriate action taken against the perpetrators.")

The Three journalist from Myanmar Times were fired from their post by the order of Information Minister on Monday.

The three journalists were Burmese language editor Daw Nwe Nwe Aye and U Win Nyunt and News editor chief U Win Kyaw Nyunt.

The reason of fired from their job was these journalists tried to confirmed the news about the increase of Satellite Television Levy Fee. Myanmar Times was pressured by the Military Junta to fire this 3 journalists.

According to the one reporter, Myanmar Times was watched and monitored by the Junta since it published the news about Bird Flu and the news about the fall down of the bridge which was built by the Junta.

The Junta plan to take more action on Myanmar Times. In 2007, one of the advertisement mentioning "Killer Than Shwe" in the one of the Myanmar Times English edition. Since then Junta was closely monitored on Myanmar Times.

On 11 January 2008 around 10:00 am Myanmar Student Monks' Blog http://lanka-msma.blogspot.com/ was hacked by the Hacker(s).

The monks were informed about that news by the Myanmar Media Watch Group.

The night before the Lanka-MSMA blog was hacked, there was someone online and warned the monks that "You the monks, all of you have nothing to do with the politics and all of you better keep quiet." The person also accused the monks as "Fake Monks".

The Blog's url address was changed to "r-soldier.blogspot.com" and the Blog admin password was change to omega222.

The monks advised all the Burmese Bloggers to be especially vigilant and to take care of their Blogs.

Satellite TV Levy fee is reduced back to 50,000 Kyats by Junta

The Satellite Levy Fee which were increase to 1 million Kyats(about US$ 800) from 6000 Kyats(US$ 5) by Junta at the beginning of this year are now reduced back to 50,000 Kyats(US$ 40).

According to the source, this was happened probably Junta noticed that there are big wide spread of unhappiness and anger among the public because of increasing the Levy Fee unreasonably and increasing the Fee without any announcement.

The source added now people are reinstalling back the Satellite Dish.

Some Political analysts thought, reducing of CNG gas Ration suddenly and unreasonably increasing the Satellite TV Levy Fee are just a Military Junta tactic to test the People Patience.

Starting from this year WITHOUT warning, Burma's military junta has ordered a massive 166-fold rise to 1 Millions Kyats(Burmese Currency) in the annual satellite television levy. Previous years it was 6000 Kyats only. No one had any idea how it was happen. The Junta only have 4 channels and it is using other country's satellite to broadcast. Now E-Moe can't afford to pay the Levy and he is in the situation of to dismantle his Satellite Dish....

Walking in the Rain.

(The monks reach Kalutara Town this evening(shown with arrow. Colombo on top and Starting point Galle at the bottom.)

After walking 12 Kilometer this morning(6 January 2008), monks stop for a day meal at Sirisudahshanayama Monestary at Kawmula village and get some rest. In the afternoon there was very heavy rain but the monks keep continue walking.

A long all the way, all the wishes and encouragements make the monks more strength and motivation. The city dwellers and villagers asked "why are the monks walking?" and whenever they heard the monks replied " We are walking for to get freedom in Burma from the Junta Suppression and for the peace in the world", they(SriLankan people) give their wishes and Blessing. They also mentioned the Buddhist Country like Burma shouldn't be under Military Junta and they give their best wishes for the success of the campaign of the monks.
All Along the way, people put together their hands and pay respect to the monks like the way Burmese people pay their respect to the monks during Saffron Revolution.

The route is along the Coastal of the Indian Ocean and there are Coconut Trees line up along the way and people donated along of coconut juices.

One of the German tourist group shout "Burmese monks must win". All of them come down from the bus and put their hands together and pay respect to the monks. They claps their hand and shout together "Burmese monks will succeed".

Tonight, the monks will rest at Maha Bodhiya Monastery, Kalutara Town.(see the http://www.wikimapia.org/ photo).

Colombo is not very far away now, it is only about 30km away. The journey will end in front of United Nation office after reciting Metta Suta on 8 January 2008. Today the monks walk for a distance of 28km.

Burmese Activist was called up by Singapore Police

According to the Blog site of the Burmese Activist who participated in the protest at the Orchard during the ASEAN summit, the Activist was called up by the Singapore police just very recently and was advised to come to Tanglin Police Station for "interview".(Orchard area is the vicinity of Tanglin Police Station).

This information was posted on that Activist's Blog in Burmese. The Activist mentioned that the phone call from the police caught the activist by surprise because it was quite some time ago. The police asked the activist when will the activist be able to come to the police station for interrogation regarding the Protest issue.

According to the activist, the police talked quite nicely on the phone.

The activist was not sure about how many Burmese Activists who participated Orchard Road Protest during ASEAN summit were called up by the police.

On the Third day of the Long Pace March for Peace in Burma and World Peace, Burmese Monks start their Peace Journey at 7:30am on 06 January 2008, from the Kande Viharaya Temple at Aluthgama Town where they rest for the overnight.

Before continue their walk, Burmese monk conduct consecration service at the temple and recite Metta Suta.

The monks taking a break at Kilometer 49 point and having cold drinks donated by the Sri Lanka devotees.

At the moment, the monks are passing by Kilometer 52 point outside of Beruwala Town while the cold breeze air of Indian Ocean welcome their Journey.

The monks are already completed over half way mark of the journey.

At Blk 1, Ko Minn Ko Naing, Ko Jimmy, Ko Tin Htu Aung, Ko Zaw Lin Aung, Ko Myo Thant and Ko Kap Khan Khual are held together with others criminals and also with Kywe Gyi aka Khin Maung Thaik ( a crminal who committed murder 2 times ) who was appointed as the supervisor of that Blk 1.

At Blk 2, Ko Ko Gyi, Ko Mya Aye, Ko Myo Khin aka Mone Khet and Ko Kyaw Kyaw Htwe aka Mar Kee are held together with the criminals who are on death row.

At Blk 3, Ko Dee Nyein Linn and Ko Thein Swe are held together with the criminals who are on death row.

At Blk 5, Ko Htwe Kywe is held together with other 30 criminals.

At Prison Hospital, Ko Hla Myo Aung and Ko Htin Kyaw are held together with ex army officer Hla Win Aung who is already mentally abnormal and another mad criminal.

Ko Myo Khin is going to sentence under Section 505/143 and Ko Thein Swe is going to sentence under Section 6.

Burmese Monks in Sri Lanka have arrived at the Janandananamya Temple, praying for the Burma by reciting Metta Sutta and offering flower to the Buddha. Ven. Aggadhamma said that everying is okay and they are very delighted to see local people are helping , security are guarding on the way the walk. Temple where the Burmese Monks staying will make for breakfast for tomorrow morning and lunch will be donated by the local Buddhists. The monks will continues to march from Hikkaduwa to Aluttgama at 7am in tomorrow(5 January 2008).

Translation: Protest to release Political Prisoners

About 1200 people attended this year 60th anniversary of Burma Independance day organized by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's NLD Party infront of NLD party headquarter. 12 NLD members dressed like a political prisoners in dark blue sarong and light blue tops with a sentence "Release Political Prisioners in No time" with each word on the back of the each member.

So far no arrest was carrried out yet and the demostartion took about 15 mins.

Over 50 Burmese Monks in Sri Lanka, at 7:00am today (4 January 2008), praying metta prayer and marching towards City Hall, Galle City toward City Hall Galle for the opening ceremony of Long Peace Walk. The ceremony which was stsrting at 8:00 am in front of the City Hall, Buddha square. The ceremony was attended by the Principle Abbot of Galle Buddhist Council Ven. Chandakumara,Ven. Pannaratana and monks, Gelle region police chief Mr. Keerthie. D- Silva (S. S. P) and others responsible personals and over 200 Citizens from Gelle city.

The ceremony was opening by reciting "Namaw Satha" prayer 3 times by the attendees. The public and monks recite the peace prayer for the Peace in Burma and for the World Peace. Also offering flowers and candles.

After that, Chief Monks take turns give speeched for the Peace in Burma and peace in the world. On behalf of the Burmese Monks in Sri Lanka, Ashin Thura Wuntha explaining about the reason of the Long Peace Walk.

Ashin Thura Wuntha explain that 4 January is the 60th Anniversary of Burmese Independence from British Colony but Burma is still under Military Junta Dictatorship for 45 years. Current Military Dictator practise only interest to hold their power and for the sake of to prolong their their power as long as possible, the military Junta is killing, arresting, torturing its own people without considering any Human Rights at all.

Especially in September 2007, Military arrested more than 4000 monks and killed almost 40 monks inhumanely, who were (for the sake of the Burmese public) ,reciting Metta prayer and carried out peaceful walking demonstration to show the people desire and demand.

Because of this, The intention of the today Long Peace Walk by the overseas Burmese monks is to make the World aware of the suppression in Burma and participate to help Burmese people in peaceful way.

Around 8:00 pm New Year, The Shwedagon Pagoda was closed to the Public by putting up Signboards everywhere mentioning "Cleaning In Process". Not a single person was allow to enter the Shwedagon pagoda for worshipping.

About 8:30 pm, along the Rangoon's Pyay Road, security forced were stopping all the cars and Transports by the roadside in Frantic manner. Later long motorcade passing by according to the eye witness reported to DID.

According to the report which is considered as reliable by the people who close to the security force, General Than Shwe and so many Officers lighted up 90,000 candles at Shwedagon Pagoda as a "Ye-Ta-Yar(doing some thing or offering something as certain place,at certain time and date to counter-act in advance to prevent the bad things going to happen to someone).

On the same day(earlier time) at Shwedagon Pagoda, some activists shouting "our Cause" slogan at the Shwedagon Pagoda and distributed VCD and CD to the public. The person who reported this news had no chance to obtain these VCD and CD, he was not sure what informations inside these VCD and CD. So far noone was arrested yet.

Another unrelated news which DID got was, according from the public from Rangoon that the Fuel(petrol) price will be increased up to 4500 -5000 Kyats

MOSCOW, January 3 (Itar-Tass) -- The third counsellor of the Myanmar Embassy in Moscow was found dead at the embassy premises in downtown Moscow, a source in the Moscow police told Itar-Tass on Thursday. Doctors said in a preliminary diagnosis report that the diplomat died of intestinal poisoning and acute heart attack.

“An alarm call about the incident came at 6.14 p.m. Moscow time on Thursday to the police alert force. The 40-year-old third counsellor of the Myanmar Embassy was found dead at the premises of the embassy situated at 41, Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street,” the police source said.
The investigation into the incident is underway.

Today, I surf around all the blogs which are related to Burma and find out more and more Burmese blogs are translating and/or posting the articles and news in English language to make the whole world aware of Burmese people feeling and Burma related news which are not mentioning in the major News Broadcaster Like VOA English news, BBC World news or CNN, etc.

There must be a lot of Burmese Bloggers who start posting in both Language (Burmese and English). I am going to find out as fast as I can and as much as I can.

Recently I come to notice that following bloggers are stepping up their translation of Burmese articles and news into English Language. These bloggers are Naychiu' Blog (Who is Who in Burma), Ashin Mettacarra's Blog(Ashin Mettacara), Thway Ni's Blog (Burmese Bloggers w/o Borders).

Saffron Monks Leader Health is in Danger.

The health of U Inthariya the leader of the Saffron Revolution in Araken state was in Danger. U Inthariya was currently held in the Boo-thee-Daung Prison, Araken State.

According to the one of the relatives, U Inthariya was not allowed to meet by his family and it is so difficult to tell how bad is his health condition but the news leaked out from the prison said U Inthariya health condition was really bad. he was severely tortured and mentally and physically.

U Inthiriya was arrested at Myoma Monestary, Maung Taw town while he tried to escape from Sittwe(capital of Arakan State) to Bangladesh.

U Inthiriya was disrobe at Maung Taw town and then send to Sittwe Prison and then on 10 October 2007 he was sentenced(without trial) to 7.5 years jail sentence and sent to Boo-Thee-Daung Prison and his family was not allowed to meet him.

During at Sittwe prison he was tortured very badly by military Intelligence agents and now he was mentally very badly effected. This information was told by the one student leader who was release from prison recently.

U Inthiriya is 28yrs old and studying at Saik-ta-Thu-Kha monestary and he was one of the leader during the saffron revolution.

Because of the severely torture, not only his health is in danger but his mantel is also badly affected.

The Abbot ask the devotee: Isn't you devotees require to refuge to 3 jewels; Buddha, Dharma and Sangha?

The Abbot: Isn't we require to become good Buddhist?
(The Devotees: Yes Abbot)

The Abbot continue:
If we want to become a good Buddhist, we must respect and must refuge to 3 jewels; Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.

But now in Burma, Buddha statue were beheaded, cut here, cut there and do all the inapproriate things that means it is disrespectful to Buddha, Dharma and Sangha.

Not pay attention to the Dharma, Not practise as according to the Dharma, even though Buddha said "Abstain for Killing one Life, Abstain from stealing from others property but if one ignore and doing the all killing and stealing, do you think it is practising the Dharma?
(The Devotee reply. No, it is not practising.)

The Abbot coninue:
If this is happen the Buddhist religion will disappear.
Now things were happening in Burma which would lead to the disappear of Buddhist religion.
Only Buddhist religion will last long for ever if you follow the Buddha teaching(Dharma), example Buddha said abstain from killing, then don't kill anyone. Only then it is only meaningful to say "Dhammam Saranam Gacchami "( I go for refuge to the Dharma ).

Also only when you treat and talk to the Sangha(monks) with respect then it is meaningful to say "Sangham Saranam Gacchami"( I go for refuge to the Sangha ).

Now in Burma, some people are criticising and insulting the monks by saying "Fake Sangha, Sangha Pretender with the robe, Politics Sandha".
Do you agree or not(Ask to the Devotees).
Don't critise or insult the monks, if you say so then there is no more "Sangham Saranam Gacchami"

Don't accuse the monks "Fake Sangha, Politic Sangha, Sangha Pretender with the robe", if accuse so then you will become the member of "that" GANG.

Do you want to become the member of "that Gang"? (ask to Devotees)
(Devotees reply:No we don't want !!)

If you don't want to become a member of that Gang then don't criticise and insult the monks by saying "Fake Sangha, Politics Sangha, Sangha pretender with a robe"

Don't say the monks from this Monastery is this and that, the monks from that monastery is this and that.

If you say so, then you will become a person whose intelligence level is lower than the animal. You will become a person whose intelligence level is lower then the animal.(Abbot repeats 2 times)

The Abbot preaches .....

If you TALK with good intention, if you DO with good intention and if you PLAN with good intention you will get back good results.
if you TALK with bad intention, if you DO with bad intention and if you plan with bad intention you will only get back bad results.
And after life you will ended in a bad place.
This is the simplest way of explaining about the "Patthan"(Buddhist Philosophy-The Law of Causal Relation )in a layman term.

The Last thing, I want to tell all of you is .. since now these days there are so many "our causes" everywhere, we the monks, also have to tell about "Our Causes Sermon" to all of you. (Probably the abbot sarcastically mentioned this because the Junta force all kinds of media to print or to show their "our(Junta) three causes" on every news magazine, newspaper, before TV shows, even on the first page of the novel and cartoons everyday and also put on the big Signboard everywhere especially in front of US Embassy ..baydah)

Shooting broke out between the Junta Army and the DKBA militia

According to the news, came for the border Area, 5 soldiers from DKBA militia(Pro-Junta splinter group from KNU) were killed, shot by the Junta army group. This DKBA group arrived to KNU 6 Army Corps area for Joint offensive with Junta Army against KNU.

The shooting broke out when there was arguments between the Junta Army and DKBA.

The soldiers from DKBA 901 Infantry commanded by Yan Min, refused to follow order from the Junta Army to ambush KNU and that started the arguments and ended up Junta Army shot and killed 5 soldiers from DKBA. There was no casualties from the Junta side according to the officer from the Cease-Fire team who confirmed about the shooting broke out.

It was happened on 16 December 2007 near Tee-Ka-Htain village in the KNU 6 Army Corps command area. The DKBA soldiers were shot by the soldiers from Junta 44 Army Division.

At the time of this shooting, there were 70 soldiers from Junta Army at the scene and the DKBA 901 Infantry commander Yan Min was away at the Myaing-Gyi-Ngu Army headquarter to attend meeting.

Ko Kyaw Thet: Well, My name is Kyaw Thet and I am from 88 generation student movement.

Ko Sithu: Where were you working before?
Ko Kyaw Thet: During the 8888 Student upring, as a 88 generation student, I am working for the Whole Burma Student Union Headquarter.

After the cracked down of the student, I escape to Thailand and then to US since then I am settle down in US and working together with any organisation which have same vision, same objective and resolution for our country.

Ko Sithu: What do you think about this 7 Steps Road Map which was written by the Military Junta?
Ko Kyaw Thet: If you look at the The Junta policy of 7 Steps Road Map, the one step is writing of Constitution and now they are preparing to write the Constitution. The Constitutions are very important to any one country. It is the Life Line and essential requirement of the country.

But as of today, if you look at the Constitution which they(Junta) preparing to write is not reflect to the people desire nor reflect to the people life, then this Constitution will be considered as not applicable.

Beside that if that Constitution is going to be adopted by the National Congress then we have to check the delegations of the National Congress. Who are these delegations? Who they really represent? That's why for me, I will not accept the Constitution which is written by them(Military Junta).

Ko Si Thu: So who should be written the Constitution?
Ko Kyaw Thet: As for me, The constitution should be written by the Delegations who are truly elected by the people to represent the people wish and desire. Any person or any Organisation or any establishment cannot write the Constitution by themselves to satisfy their own desire and benefit.

Since the constitution have to reflect the people desire and people life, we will never accept any constitution which is written to look after the benefit of the certain group or certain organisation or certain Establishment.

The Constitution MUST be written by the delegations who are truly elected by the people to reflect their desire, their wishes and their life.

Ko Sithu: Recently I heard that there are some movement of creating the Federal Government and writing of Federal Constitution outside of Burma. Do you think it is the right time to do that or it is necessary?
Ko Kyaw Thet: As my OWN personal point of view, the Federal Constitution written outside of Burma is to be considered as DRAFT. One day, when the Constitution which is real and truly reflect the people desire and wishes are written then this Federal Constitution will be submitted as a DRAFT Constitution to be study and considered.

On December 10, A meeting to mark the International Human Rights Day was held in Kyi' Myin Taing, Yangon, at the home of U Myint Aye's, the leader of the HRDP (Human Rights Defenders and Promoters). The meeting, held from 9:00 until 10:30 am, was attended by about 100 people, the members around the country, diplomats from United State of America, some public members with interest in Human Rights as well as staff members of Sun Arr Shin (Power Rangers) - the government's public movement control officials.

Today is the International Human Rights Day. Once I realize it is the International Human Rights Day, the thought immediately came into my mind was my Country and myBurmese People who lost their Basic Human Rights under Military Junta.

Under the limited situation and condition, everyone(OPB and all the volunteers) didn't bother about their sleepless nights and their own jobs and gaving up their personal times to make this International Human Rights Day Arts and Literature Exhibition in Singapore a success.

I went to the Exhibiton hall around 4:00pm Sunday to support the Exhibition.

In the middile of the exhibition hall was the Tree of Life .

Wishing Cards which people wrote down their desire, hope and wish for their good for the People of Burma were hanged on this Tree of Life.

The Exhibition was attended by the well known figures from all sort of life such as HE Ambassdoe from Poland, Director of Political Affairs from British Embassy, Singapore MP Ms. Irene Ng, Singapore Opposition Dr. Chee from SDP, etc.

Since the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 10 December 1948, all the member nations have the full responsibility of respect and protect for the basic Human Rights.

The development of modern technology, news media and Globalisation of trading, ideas, cultural exchanges make the countries, governments and people to think and act practically and naturally beyond their geographical boundaries of their nations.

In this time of Globalisation around the world, the Military Junta from Burma(Myanmar) have been openly suppressed and practised gross violations of all the Basic Human Rights to its own people in their own country daily since 1962.

All the UN members countries shouldn't look at this situation as JUST an internal affairs and ignore our Burmese people plight, instead they should act together and get involve to ensure that the primacy of human rights and to confront human rights violations wherever they occur as a kind consideration and rightful act to the fellow human being.

The killing of Japanese Reporter, Heated Discussion about Burma Democracy and Human Rights issue at UN security council, Refugee issues, Drugs productions and smuggling, Human trafficking in Burma, Face loosing situation of ASEAN Leaders at recent ASEAN Summit were clearly showed and proved that Burma Military Junta's violation of Human Rights issues are no longer cannot consider ONLY as Burma Internal Issue anymore.

Therefore, all the International Communities should not ignore the gross violations of Human Rights in Burma.

We would like to appeal and request all the Nations, please don't waste time or reluctant to help and protect the fellow human being dignity and their Basic Human Rights, JUST for the sake of giving priority only to the profit of your country business.

Ko Thiri, What is your view about the current Political Situation In Burma?

Ko Thiri Nyunt(Answer):

I don't want to say Big Thing about Politics. The Monks lead Saffron Revolution in September and those Student uprising in 1974, 1988, etc were happened because of people unable to stand the unfairness and suppression anymore and with their own will, own desire and initiate their own responsibilities to up rise against the Country Bad System and Bad Policies.

Burmese people are the most patient and most forgiveness people on Earth, if the government did a certain level of good thing for the country, Burmese people will not bother about the politics. Now what happen was because of too much of unfairness and too much of suppression, they (Burmese people) with their own will, they stand up against the Junta by themselves. These uprising were happened by itself, it was not because of any others influence.

As long as there are no freedom, no democracy, no justice in Burma, these kind of uprising against Military Junta will continue to happen for sure and Burmese people will stand up by themselves with their own will. As long as there are Suppression and Unfairness, the uprising will happen again and again by itself.(No need to wait for any encouragement from others)

Question:

What should we do and how do we fight in the Future to get Freedom in Burma?

Answer:

I don't want to say anything about what we should do on the interview because Enemy(Junta) will get time to prepare to counteract against these actions. I don't want to tell what we have to do, All the activist already know what to do.

But my OWN personal view and my Own believe, In 1988 we were suppressed and Junta drove(forced) us on this road of Armed Struggle. I myself participated in Armed Struggle against Junta for 5 yrs along the Border and Our Comrades are still continue Armed Struggle there.

A weapon without ammunition is not even as useful as the stick. Armed Struggling without support will difficult to succeed. Armed Struggling need weapons, ammunition, medicines, supply etc. . Last time those Leftist Revolutions were successful because it got full support by Russia and China from behind.

Since we don't have this kind of support from anywhere at this moment, we are not able to move forward yet in this moment. But I don't mean we will never win because of we can't able to move forward at this moment.

I believe, one day if we get this kind of support, we will win. I am one of the person who really hate war, there are only bad and evil things on the battlefield.

But since Junta Government don't want to walk on Peace Road and don't want to settle in peaceful way, we have no other option, we have to fight for to get the freedom in Burma, this is my own personal believe.

Question:

What do you want to say to the People in Burma?

Answer:

I want to tell to the people who are not Only inside Burma, I also like to tell to the Burmese people who are outside of Burma, I want to tell to Every Burmese people that it is the responsibility of everyone. Everyone is responsible and accountable, I am also responsible and you(Ko Si Thu) are also responsible if we love our country.

If there are a lot of people who just want to look for themselves or just only interest in looking after for their own family well being and just sit down and do nothing and just watch what other people are doing, then our country will never change.

But if there are a lot of people who understand their responsibilities and accountable for the good cause of our Country, then we will win one day and our Country will become develop and better.

I don't want to say it is the responsible of the People from inside or the People from outside. It is the responsibility of everyone who love Burma and all of us are responsible for changing all the Bad things to the Good things. That's all I like to say. Thank you.

87 Burmese National Day Annirversary

Today is Burma National Day (The 10th day of the waning moon of Tazaungdine ). Burma never use Univeral calenday for National Day Date. The Date of the National Day is always according to the Burmese Calender.(Like the way, Chinese use the Luner calender for their new year)

87th Anniversary National Day Statement 04/2007
By Generation Wave Youth Movement Organization.

On this day 87 years ago (in 1920) group of young University Student successfully boycott against the Colony Education. Since then the Nationalist Movement Spirit was born in Burma. With this Nationalist Spirit, we gain our Independence. The Nationalist Spirit was well known as Fighting Peacock Spirit to honour the university student who started the boycott.

In 1962, The military junta take over Burma, 14 years after Burma Gained Independence. Since then Students , Public and Monks are uprising against the suppression of Military Junta. the most well known uprising are occurred in 1974, 1988, 1996 and 2007 Student, Public and The Monks Uprising for the Democracy, Human Rights and Freedom.

The National Day which was born from the Determination, Courage and uncorrupted mind of the University Students, it is the one of the most significant day in Burmese entire History.

Even though Burma gain Independence from the other country, we are still under the Burma Military colony . We want to encourage all of you, with this National Day Spirit, lets the whole country united and up against these Military Junta.

Our Generation Wave Youth Movement Organisation will also participate together with the general public with the "Fighting Peacock spirit" till we get rid of the Military Junta.

We encourage everyone with this "Min Ko Naing's own poem"

( Olden Days during the Burmese Kingdom time, one of the Burmese symbol was " Dancing Peacock" but for The Rangoon University Student Union, instead of Dancing Peacock, the Studemt Union took the Fighting Peacock as their Symbol to represent their Fighting Spirit" .. The picture left is "Dancing Peacock "and on the rigfht is "Fighting Peacock" .. Since then Fighting Peacock Symbol represents the University Student Union and its Fighting spirit for Justice and Freedom.

Monday, December 25, 1995

The 10th day of the waning moon of Tazaungdine marks National Day in Burma. It is the anniversary of the boycott against the 1920 Rangoon University Act which was seen by the Burmese as a move to restrict higher education to a privileged few. This boycott, which was initiated by university students, gained widespread support and could be said to have been the first step in the movement for an independent Burma. National Day is thus a symbol of the intimate and indissoluble link between political and intellectual freedom and of the vital role that students have played in the the politics of Burma.

This year the 75th anniversary of National Day fell on Nov. 16. A committee headed by elder politicians and prominent men of letters was formed to plan the commemoration ceremony. It was decided that the celebrations should be on a modest scale in keeping with our financial resources and the economic situation of the country. The program was very simple; some speeches, the presentation of prizes to those who had taken part in the essay competitions organized by the National League for Democracy, and the playing of songs dating back to the days of the independence struggle. There was also a small exhibition of photographs, old books and magazines.

An unseasonable rain had been falling for several days before the 16th but on the morning of National Day itself the weather turned out to be fine and dry. Many of the guests came clad in pinni, a hand-woven cotton cloth that ranges in color from a flaxen beige through varying shades of apricot and orange to burnt umber. During the independence struggle pinni had acquired the same significance in Burma as khaddi in India, a symbol of patriotism and a practical sign of support for native goods. Since 1988 it has also become the symbol of the movement for democracy. A pinni jacket worn with a white collarless shirt and a Kachin sarong (a tartan pattern in purple, black and green) is the unofficial uniform for democracy men. The dress for democracy women is a pinni aingyi (Burmese style blouse) with a traditional hand-woven sarong. During my campaign trip to the state of Kachin in 1989 I once drove through an area considered unsafe because it was within a zone where insurgents were known to be active. For mile upon mile men clad in pinni jackets on which gleamed the brave red badge of the National League for Democracy stood on guard duty along the route, entirely unarmed. It was a proud and joyous sight.

The sight on the 75th anniversary of National Day too was a proud and joyous one. The guests were not all clad in pinni but there was about them a brightness that was pleasing to both the eye and the heart. The younger people were full of quiet enthusiasm and the older ones seemed rejuvenated. A well-known student politician of the 1930s who had become notorious in his mature years for the shapeless shirt, shabby denim trousers, scuffed shoes (gum boots during the monsoons) and battered hat in which he would tramp around town was suddenly transformed into a dapper gentleman in full Burmese national costume. All who knew him were stunned by the sudden picture of elegance he represented and our photographer hastened to record such an extraordinary vision.

The large bamboo and thatch pavilion that had been put up to receive the thousand guests was decorated with white banners on which were printed the green figure of a dancing peacock. As a backdrop to the stage too there was a large dancing peacock, delicately executed on a white disc. This is the symbol of the students who had first awoken the political consciousness of the people of Burma. This is a symbol of a national movement that had culminated triumphantly with the independence of the country.

The orchestra had arrived a little late as there had been an attempt to try to persuade the musicians not to perform at our celebration. But there spirits had not been dampened. They stayed on after the end of the official ceremony to play and sing nationalist songs from the old days. The most popular of these was Nagani. Red Dragon Nagani was the name of a book club founded by a group of young politicians in 1937 with the intentions of making works on politics, economics, history and literature accessible to the people of Burma. The name of the club became closely identified with patriotism and a song was written about the prosperity that would come to the country through the power of the Red Dragon. Nagani was sung by a young man with a strong, beautiful voice and we all joined in the chorus while some of the guests went up on the stage and performed Burmese dances. But beneath the light-hearted merriment ran a current of serious intent. Our national movement remains unfinished. We have still to achieve the prosperity promised by the dragon. The time is not yet for the triumphant dance of the peacock.
